Hello OpenWrt community!
This is Pono from Software Freedom Conservancy, and I'm writing to you
all to announce that with the soon to be departure of the existing
Project Leadership Committee (PLC) of OpenWrt, a group of 7 people have
put their names forward to include in an upcoming vote to replace the
existing 3 members.
After a series of open conversations (coming out of the replied-to email
here[1]), we (Denver, SFC's Director of Compliance, and I) facilitated
and answered questions about what being a part of the OpenWrt PLC looks
like from SFC's point of view. Mostly we want to support a working
relationship to ease logistical planning and organization within the
project. This includes reimbursement requests, legal issues, trademark
concerns, event planning, etc. After these calls we had 7 people express
interest in replacing the three outgoing members of the PLC. If you are
interested in joining this group of 7, please let us know! In order to
ensure we can get the vote started on time, and since the window has
been open for over 45 days already (per above email), this is the final
call for others who wish to be part of a new PLC vote, which we will be
closing in 7 days (at the end of January 27 AoE (Anywhere on Earth)).
This is an announcement of a new potential PLC and after a few weeks of
answering any questions and helping facilitate a formal ballot, we'll be
having a vote.
Thanks and please reach out to the list of me privately if you have any
questions or concerns,
-Pono on behalf of Software Freedom Conservancy
