This is something where I personally don't agree. I would not use a
unstable/rolling release distribution for something like building
OpenWrt. But I see that there are people that do this.

At the concept level, I would remove the option to use the host python.
This sounds like an invitation for people to "optimize" stuff and then
complain.
At the code level, there are a few things that I dislike and a few
things I don't understand. See the PR for details. I am pretty sure
that this are only minor things.
