I’m sorry, this doesn’t compute.
The xz "incident" was perpetrated through *submissions* that were *reviewed*.
Also note that the contributor did manage to come up with an (unverifiable) "real name".

PS: for the sake of clarity, I don’t think allowing arbitrary usernames is a good idea.
The reasons have been exposed by others already.
