[OpenWrt-Users] Qwestion (sic) regarding Actiontec

Hi,
I've got an Actiontec GT701-wg, which was supplied as
part of getting a DSL account from Qwest (hence the
bad pun in the subject line).
So far, so good. The modem is listed as supported, and
the wiki documentation specifically refers to Qwest in
regards to this modem. Qwest hasn't maintained the
firmware for ages, and what they supply has some bugs,
so switching to openwrt would seem an excellent idea.
Qwest's website, however, throws an interesting
potential spanner in the works. It states that
Actiontec's firmware should not be used because it is
incompatible with Qwest's network. That could be a
problem, depending on whether this applies to openwrt
or not.
Here's where it gets murkier. I can't find anything
that actually says that openwrt works with Qwest as it
currently stands, or what I would need to do to the
configuration to make openwrt work, despite this
incompatibility with Actiontec's own software.
Is anyone using this setup over Qwest, and is there
anything extra/non-standard that they needed to do to
make it work?
Jonathan
