[OpenWrt-Users] Cant login to router interface "white russian webif2"

Hi,
I've installed the latest white russian "9_openwrt-3g-r80-brcm-2.4-squashfs.trx" on a wrt54g3g-ST, Win XP and Vista networked successfully. Router IP is 192.168.1.1. Flashed via ethernet connection. 
I can see the Webif2 Admin console. I changed the password after rom flash as web interface requires. After logging out of the router it wont let me back in. It keeps asking for username and password. I didn't use a username before to login, and it will not accept my password. I tried resetting router via reset button without any luck. 
Is there a default username/password I can use? I tried leaving the fields blank with no luck. Is there another way into the router? I tried the Putty shell, but get the same results.
I had 64bit WEP encription setup prior to flash. Encription setting carried over for my wireless connection. Can view all shares on each computer. Just cant access router so I can setup my web connection.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
