#3392: broadcom-wl update in r10137 breaks older hardware (such as WL-500g)

Reporter: Fatus | Owner: developers
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: normal | Milestone: Kamikaze
Component: packages | Resolution:
Keywords: broadcom-wl wl-500g wl_attach |

Comment (by Fatus):
Oleg's firmware page also seems to confirm:
"This firmware no longer supports original WL-500g/b/bv2/WL-300g
/WL-HDD units: hardware vendor no longer support BCM4702 CPU. [...]
Updated WiFi module to latest (4.150.10.16) (from the WL-500W 2.0.0.1
firmware)"
The way I understand it, the problem lies within the wl_apsta.o etc.
binary code that seems to be dependent on the host CPU and is not just
executed by the wireless module itself?
