#3392: broadcom-wl update in r10137 breaks older hardware (such as WL-500g)
----------------------+-----------------------------------------------------
 Reporter: Fatus | Owner: developers
     Type: defect | Status: new
 Priority: normal | Milestone: Kamikaze
Component: packages | Keywords: broadcom-wl wl-500g wl_attach
----------------------+-----------------------------------------------------
Since r10137 (2008-01-06), older Broadcom hardware such as the WL-120g
card in the Asus WL-500g is no longer supported (wl_attach fails). The
culprit probably lies within the new v4.150.10.5 driver.

This ticket's first purpose is to just document for the public the fact
that WL-500g is broken since. Secondly, to get some comments as to how to
handle the situation -- whether the hardware should be simply declared
"unsupported" since after 7.09 or a new broadcom-wl-old package should be
 set up etc.
