I did a new build and tested with "CONFIG_HIGHMEM=n" and while 3 of the 4 devices correctly detected 128MiB of RAM, 1 device wrongly detected 256MiB of RAM.

So for now unfortunately there is no reliable workaround. I'm reverting back to the previous build that was working OK (r18104-2f95dd8ff0).
