It's still a problem on 19.07.5. I think using the now mainlained rtl8366s driver may be the issue as it probably doesn't have some of the fixes that were in OpenWrt for that switch. Not sure too many people besides me are still using ath79 devices these days though, so it'll probably die from neglect (especially since once I can, I plan on replacing it rather than fighting with it).
