The problem is that no LEDs other than "power" work. This includes USB, WiFi-2.4G, WiFi-5G, and even the port activity LEDs which I thought were managed automatically by the switch hardware?..
I can confirm this on 18.06.8 and 19.07.3 .
In the PR that added support for this router ( https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/pull/3017 ), there was some discussion about WiFi LEDs not working, but nothing about USB or port activity LEDs.
There was a fix for 2.4 GHz WiFi LED, but it's not in 19.07.3: https://github.com/openwrt/openwrt/commit/a1f0fd8cba4d9233b76542fbf54be01e2cc9d5c0
